Edward Dean Ratcliff

Edward Dean Ratcliff, 74, of Willard, KY, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV.  He was born July 19, 1939 in Willard a son of the late Charlie and Hazel Arden Ratcliff.  Eddie was a farmer and former co-owner of Dennis and Dean Coal Company.  He was also a member of Boilermakers Local 667 of Winfield, WV; he was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed working with his bird dogs.  He was a member of Willard Church of Christ and a former Elder of Leon Church of Christ.  He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Ernest Earl Ratcliff and a brother Harry Lewis Ratcliff.  His survivors include his wife of 55 years Bobbie Jean Tackett Ratcliff; two sons Timothy Dean (Robin) Ratcliff of Jamestown, KY and Terry Edward Ratcliff of Willard, KY; one brother Bobby Ernest (Jean) Ratcliff of Pensacola, FL; one sister Betty Sue (James) Thornbury of Grayson; sister-in-law Bonnie Tackett Gollihue of Willard; seven grandchildren Garrett Edward Ratcliff of Grayson, Jeremy Dean (Amanda) Ratcliff of Flatwoods, KY, Dr. Faith Leann Ratcliff of Jamestown, KY, Whitney Ratcliff of Ashland, Evan Ratcliff of Grayson, Jordan Ratcliff of Jamestown and Tyler Ratcliff of Willard; four great-grandchildren Taisley Ratcliff of Flatwoods, Liam and Uriah Ratcliff  of Ashland and Trey Ratcliff of Flatwoods.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Malone Funeral Home with David Braun, officiating.  Burial will be in the Ratcliff Family Cemetery in Willard.  Friends may call from 6-9 Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.  Condolences may be sent to the Ratcliff Family at www.malonefuneralhome.com.
