Barbara Ella Ponevacs

Barbara Ison Ponevacs, 69 of Grayson went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Hospice Care Center in Ashland. She was born January 1, 1948 in Red Jacket WV a daughter of the late Isom and Beatrice Ison. Barbara was a hairdresser by trade, opening and operating several Fantastic Sam’s in the North East area of Ohio, and a member of American Legion Post #469 in Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Ponevacs in 2016; one grandson, Evan Layne Fraley; five brothers, Edgar, Herbert, Lawrence, Bob and Fredrick Ison; one sister, Glendine Hicks. Her survivors include; two sons, Ernest (Jamie) Seagraves of Olive Hill KY and John (Janet) Jenkins of Grayson; four daughters, Wendy Vangor (Ben Stafford) of Grayson, Coral (Brian) Hensley of Olive Hill, Stephanie (Scott) Sparks of Olive Hill and Georgia Ann Ison (Lisa Rhoden) of Myrtle Beach SC; three sisters, Glenna Little of Grayson, Helen Little of Cannonsburg and Ruby Mounts of Grayson; three brothers, Kenny Ison of Webbville, James Ison of Grayson and Ernest Ison of North Olmstead OH; 20 grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
