Betty Gay Burke

Betty Gay Miller Burke, 67, of Ashland went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Betty was born October 23, 1949 in Ashland, KY a daughter of the late Andy Lee and Mary Elizabeth Baker Miller. Including her parents Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years in 2016, Jack Alton Burke; and a sister, Joyce Arrington.

Betty was a member of the South Ashland United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Betty worked as a computer programmer with Verizon for over 20 years. Betty enjoyed arts and crafts especially crocheting, cooking; and loved spending time with her precious grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her; three daughters, Kamilah (Damola) Asafa, Kaila (Joe) Charland both of Ashland and Jill (Mike) Babiarz of Sarasota, FL; a son, Jeff (Katie) Burke of Annandale, VA; eight grandchildren, Alex Babiarz, Matthew Babiarz, Nevaeh Asafa, Jaydah Asafa, Amorrah Asafa, Brycen Charland, McKencen Charland, and Piercen Charland; a brother in-law, Mike (Sharon) Burke of Rush; a nephew, Chuck Arrington of Louisa; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the South Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland with Rev. Keith Katterheinrich and Damola Asafa officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Monday at the church and after 11am Tuesday until the service hour.
