Joel Gordan Davis

Joel Gordon “Gordie” Davis, 77, of Rush, KY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, surrounded by his family. Gordie was born October 21, 1939 in Rush, KY a son of the late Ray and Leva Belle Rice Davis. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Beverly Sue Davis, Karen Davis, Denna Edwards and Kathy Fannin; a brother, Freddie Davis; a daughter-in-law, Bree Hale Davis; a grandson, Donnie Halley; and a great-grandson, Tristan Halley. Gordie was a truck driver for many years, worked in the coal mines and ran heavy equipment. He loved to go flea marketing, fishing and camping. His survivors include: three sisters, Oella Adkins of Rush, Carolyn Collins and Reba Smith of Greenup; two brothers, Billy (Kate) Davis of Ironton and Tim (Kathy) Davis of Rush; three sons, Keith Davis, Jeff Davis and Randy (Janet Wright) Halley all of Rush; one daughter, Kathy (Bud) Dinkens of Rush; seven grandchildren, Wayne (Jammie Wright) Davis, Stacy Halley, Chris Halley, Adam Davis, Marsha Dinkens, Aubree Hale and Lynn Hale all of Rush; five great-grandchildren, Adam Davis (Maynard) and Autumn Halley of Rush, Christopher, Sebastian and Ann Bella Halley of South Carolina and lots of nieces and nephews that love him. Funeral Services will be held 1pm Monday July 31, 2017 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Clell Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery in Rush.
