Dr Richard A Marshall

August 25, 1935 ~ July 2, 2017 (age 81)

Dr. Richard Allen Marshall, 81, of Sandy Hook went to be with his Lord Sunday July 2, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Richard was born August 25, 1935 in Madisonville, TX a son of the late Robison and Glennis Ball Marshall. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, David Marshall.
Richard was a graduate of Rice University in Houston, TX receiving his Bachelor’s Degree and received his PHD from Ohio State University. Richard was a research chemist having worked over 30 years for Goodyear in Akron, Ohio having many international patents attributed to him. Richard was a member of First Baptist Church in Russell since 2009 and led a community Bible study at Willard Baptist Church.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Booth Marshall; a daughter, Elizabeth A. (Mark) Hendricks of Honolulu, HI; a son, John S. (Luanne) Marshall of Casper, WY; a brother, Dan (Lyn) Marshall of Monroe, NC; six grandchildren, Jeremy Hendricks, Jamison Hendricks, Mical (Kevin) Marshall Farmer, Kelsey Hendricks, Philip Marshall and Seth Marshall; three great-grandchildren, Jayden Slyer, Liam Hendricks and Kyra Farmer; and many extended friends and family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Ken Gowin officiating. Burial will follow in the Booth Family Cemetery in Webbville.
