Benny F Burchett

Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Burchett, Jr., 81, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Monday June 5, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington WV, surrounded by his loving family.  Benny was born December 3, 1935 in Grayson, KY a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Sr. and Emma Catherine Menix Burchett.  Including his parents Benny was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Burchett and Delbert Burchett; and three sisters, Phyllis Lawson, Bernice Burton and Helen Carter. 

Benny was a US Navy Veteran who served his country honorably. Benny was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grayson. Benny, loved his family, attending church, and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. Benny was always there to help family and friends.   Benny was a well know Grayson businessman having sold cars, mobile homes and working in the coal industry.

Benny is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Florence Howell Burchett; a son, Jon Franklin (Andrea) Burchett of Grayson; three daughters, Teresa (Walter) Romans of Grayson, Kimberly Burchett Larson of New York City, NY, and Rhonda Burchett of Grayson; three granddaughters, Kayla Renee Boggs, Samantha Marie Romans and Katherine Nicole Romans all of Grayson; and many friends and extended family who all mourn his passing. 

Pallbearers will be Walter Romans, Collin Howell, Curtis Howell, Larry Burton, Larry Williams, Rick Burton and Zach Burchett.  Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Carson, Ronnie Burton, Harold Dyer, Joe Kitchen, Mike Kitchen and John Sloan.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday June 12, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Grayson with Kyle Burchett and Collin Howell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with full military honors.  Visitation will be 6-9 pm Sunday at the Malone Funeral Home and after 10 am Monday at the church.  Condolences may be sent to the Burchett Family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
