Betty Lou Sutton, 88, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Betty was born March 2, 1934 in Samaria, KY a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Carrie Carr Stephens. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alva Sutton; two twin infant daughters, Theresa Gale Sutton and Terry Jo Sutton; a great-grandson, Makhi Washington; five brothers, William G., Garris, Oral, George, and Roscoe Stephens; five sisters, Inez McDaniel, Alice Stephens, Jessamine Smith, Clara Stephens and Doris Bush.
Betty was member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Betty worked as a cook at Super Quik and worked at Greenup County Schools.
Betty is survived by 2 sons, Richard A. (Teresa) Sutton of Greenup, KY and Michael Lee (Shelia) Sutton of South Shore, KY; 2 daughters; Linda Jane (Evener) Hamilton of Grayson and Shirley Pauline (Larry) Miller of Sardinia, OH,; 19 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Oliver Wayne Stephens of Grayson, KY; a sister, Hazel Hart of Columbus, OH; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday June 8, 2022 at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church on Lost Creek in Greenup Co., with Jeremy Tackett, Hager Ratcliff, John Lybrook and Travis Votaw officiating. A private burial will follow in the Riffe Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 pm Wednesday at the church until the service hour. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
