Bonita Jo Sexton Thomas

Bonita Jo “Bonnie” Sexton Thomas, 68, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Wednesday March 7, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Bonnie was born November 12, 1949 in Carter County, KY a daughter of the late Hyton Calhoun Sexton and Opal Gose Sexton Glass. In addition to her parents Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years in 2006, Danny Dee Thomas; four brothers, Hyton Sexton, Michael Sexton, Danny Sexton and Phillip Glass; and two sisters, Barbara Peggy Burton and Elizabeth Glass Burnett.
Bonnie was a strong and independent devoted mother; who loved and cared for her family deeply with all her heart. Bonnie had a vibrant personality, was a brave soul and always made the best out of every situation. Bonnie’s favorite hobbies were cooking, gardening and oil painting.  Bonnie worked as a school bus driver for the Carter County Board of Education.
Bonnie is survived by 5 children, Trish Dyer of Grayson, Kathy (Greg Justice) Perkins of Grayson, Deanna (Bill) Sallaz of Morehead, KY, Tracy (Joe) Lewis of Morehead and Danny Thomas Jr.; 12 grandchildren, Nikea (Jesse) McDavid, John Dyer, Tessa Perkins, Thomas (Lindsey) Perkins, Aaron Perkins, Bonita Sallaz, Adam Holbrook, Sierra Thomas, Danielle (Larry)Messer, Joseph Sallaz, Eric (Deanna)Lewis and Tyler Thomas; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue (Roger) Waggoner of Olive Hill; a brother, Clyde (Trish) Glass of Olive Hill and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday March 11, 2018 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Jesse McDavid and Adam Estep officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter Memory Gardens.
