Calvin C. Burnett

Calvin Coolidge Burnett, 90, of Catlettsburg, moved to Heaven Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his residence. Calvin was born October 12, 1927 in Olive Hill, KY, a son of the late Willie Lawrence and Stella Stratton Burnett. Including his parents Calvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years in 2016, Bessie Mae Barker Burnett; a great granddaughter, Daryl Shey Valandingham; three brothers, Charles Edward Burnett, Robert Lawrence Burnett and James Ezra Burnett; four sisters, Clara Rayburn, Agnes Johnson, Virginia Fay Pelphrey and Loretta May Bowling; and a daughter in-law, Linda Sue Pinkerton Burnett.
Calvin served his country honorably during WW II in the US Army Air Corps. Calvin retired from Kentucky Power Company after 43 years of service and was a life-long farmer.
Calvin is survived by a daughter, Rita (John) Goebel of Grayson; three sons, Calvin Ray (Vicki) Burnett of Middletown, OH., Ronald Jay Burnett of Catlettsburg, and Richard Darrell “Rick” (Lynn) Burnett of Lost Creek, Greenup Co.; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Burnett, David Burnett, Christy (Pat) Bowling, Ronda Watkins, Shane (Candy) Burnett, LeAnne (Jason) McGlone, Michelle (Steve) Smith, Tracy (Harley) McDaniel, and Rikki (Erick) Kleinhelter; twenty great-grandchildren, Kobey, Tori, J.J., Austin, Zachary, Jacob, Gracie, Riley, Joey, Jamie, Gwen, Cody, Shayna, Whitley, Titus, Zach, Haley, Holden, Calvin and Hadley; one great- great-grandchild, Hunter; a sister, Sarah Lou Burton of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Pat Bowling and Jason McGlone officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland with Military Honors. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Monday and after 9 am Tuesday all at the funeral home.
