Carlos James Stephens, 71 of Grayson, peacefully went to be with his Lord at Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY on Friday, October 8, 2021. Carlos was born on August 30, 1950 in Grayson a son of the late Paul and Colleen Harlow Stephens. Before his illness, Carlos loved fishing, sports, music and spending time with his family a friends. In addition to his parents, Carlos was preceded by one grandson, Gage Thornberry, two brothers, Dale Stephens and Clyde Cecil Stephens, father-in-law, Jack Binion and one nephew, Josh Binion. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pamela “Pam” Binion Stephens, one son, Derek (Donna) Stephens and daughter, Sara Brooke (Terence) Thornberry, ten grandchildren whom he adored, Emily (Drew) Wolfe, Cameron Stephens, Brody Stephens, Ellie Stephens, Cade Harrison, Elliott Harrison, Gabriel Harrison, Gunner Thornberry, Dylan Thornberry, Peyton Thornberry and great grandson Judah Wolfe and one on the way, one brother, Rick (Lisa) Stephens, three sisters, Sherry (Earl) Parker, Linda Stephens and Bonnie Stephens, brother and sister-in-laws, Randy (Sheila) Binion, Jesse (Sheila) Binion, Tanya Waggoner and Sandy Stephens, mother-in-law, Betty Littleton Binion, special aunt, Mary Louise Nelson, very close lifelong friends, Ruthie and Michael Back, Mike and Connie Harper, Mark and Patty Griffin, Don Gollihue and Alice Penix.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, October 13, 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Mike Harper, Michael Back, Mark Griffin and Ben James, ministers. Burial will be in the Stephens Family Cemetery at Lost Creek. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Malone Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Stephens, Terence Thornberry, Cameron Stephens, Brody Stephens, Gunner Thornberry and Drew Wolfe.
