Carole Jo’s soul entered heaven where she looked upon the face of her Savior and Heavenly Father. Many of her loved ones were there to greet her.
Carole Jo Johnson Chestnut was born in Ashland, the daughter of Joe W. and Nancy McDavid Johnson of Grayson. In 1959, she married Paul Justin Chestnut and on August 12, 2019 they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary. Carole is survived by her husband, Paul; three children, Allyson Jane Woods (Buddy) of Delaware, Ohio, Paul Joseph “Joe” Chestnut (Tracey) of Centerburg, Ohio and Amy Louanna Harris (John Robert) of Nerstrand, Minnesota; her sister, Sally Jan Johnson Berry and special brother-in-law, Sherman Berry of Grayson; six grandchildren, Delaney Jane Woods, Jacob Tyler Chestnut, Garrett McDavid Woods, Jolee Anna Yang Harris, Joshua Thomas Chestnut, Johnathon Truman Chestnut; her niece, Cara Layne Berry; and her special nieces and nephews, Madison Noelle, Brayden MaKane, Bryson Tate and Anniston Grey who she loved as her own; her lifelong best friend, Larry Douglas Boggs (Cathy) formerly of Grayson. She also leaves behind a host of friends from the 1959 class of Prichard High School. She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, Jeffrey Burke Chestnut. Carole was a member of the Pactolus Methodist Church and was instrumental in beginning the Ladies Prayer Group at her church. A celebration of her life will be held at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Tom Riffe, officiating. Interment will be in the Hannah Cemetery. The visitation will be held Sunday evening, January 13 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home.
