Charles R. “Chuck” Teague, 92, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his residence. Chuck was born July 5, 1928 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, a son of the late Frances and Hattie Teague. He as a WWII Navy Veteran serving from June 1943-March 1946 as a Gunner’s Third Mate on the USS Mainstay. After the service, he worked as a crane operator in the south Florida area before moving to Ohio and then Kentucky, where his last employment was at Kentucky Christian University as head of security before retiring. He was a member of the Willard American Legion and a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ where he served as Sunday school teacher for many years. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Blonda Cooper, Betty Caron, Edith Mincey, and Martha Harrelson all of Florida. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ida Mullins Teague, two sisters, Dorothy Parnell and Helen Anderson of Florida. Four daughters, Terri Teague (Steve) Baker of Athens, Ga, Dempsey (Murrie) O’Brien of Denton, Teresa (Paul) Sagraves of Grayson, Diane (Vernon) Miller of Denton. Grandsons, Stephen (Tonya) Baker of Commerce, Ga, Robert Barker of Denton, Rickey (Jennifer) Campbell of Webbville. Granddaughters, Heather (Matthew) Pearson of Jefferson, Ga, Laura (Scott) Reeves of Dacula, Ga, Jeannie (Marty) McGranahan of Grayson, Mindy (Charles) Sexton of Globe, Shania Boswell, Alesha Patton, and Nishika Lambert all of Ohio. Great grandchildren, Ella,Lily, and Scarlett Pearson, Maci and Brayden Reeves, Landon and Joshua Baker, all of Ga, Zachary (Talia) McGranahan, Dylan(Morgan) Campbell, Barren (Kassie) Barker, Misty and Trent Barker, and Katey Campbell all of Ky. Twelve great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 4, 2021 at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Damron, Bro. Mike Harper and Bro. Bradley Cotten, ministers. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with full military honors, escorted by Patriot Guard Riders. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service at Malone Funeral Home.
