Dora Cox Suttles

Dora Suttles, 102, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Dora was born January 28, 1917 to the late Dan and Maryann Hanshaw Cox. Dora was a tireless Homemaker, Quilt-maker, and Wife of a WWII Soldier and Pastor. Her gift of hospitality was unparalleled and her love for her children and all her grandchildren was unrivaled. In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years, Marcus Suttles; a daughter, Jo Ann Suttles; a son, Larry Suttles; a grandson, Chris Suttles; and 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Marquetta (Andy) Rogers of Grayson and Annette (John) Newland of Henderson; three grandsons, Mark (Lisa) Rogers, John (Tracy) Newland, and Jay (Nicole) Newland; six great-grandchildren, Keila (Donald) Bender and Hunter (Jamee) Rogers, Paige and Scott Newland, Emma and Caroline Newland; four great-great grandchildren, Kaity and Jakob Bender, and Liam and Carolyn Rogers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 6, at 1:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home with John D. Newland and Joshua Schmidt, ministers. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memorial Gardens, Visitation will be Saturday, April 6 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
