Dorothy Louise Burton

Dorothy Louise Shepherd Burton, 81, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Sunday, February 25, 2018. Dorothy was born September 7, 1936 near Fultz, KY a daughter of the late Taylor and Elizabeth Huff Shepherd. Dorothy became a member of the Rupert Lane Church of God of Prophecy in 1954; where she received her Evangelistic License in the early 60’s. In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, George Burton; and a brother, Paul Richard Shepherd. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jim Burton; two sons; Frank (Corliss) Burton of Webbville, and Trent Burton of Grayson; three daughters, Connie (Dale) Autry of Ringgold, GA, Judy (Robert) Brittingham of Chattanooga, TN, Peggy (Galen) Bell of Ooltewah, TN; a daughter in-law, Alice Burton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters and 4 brothers, Margaret (John) Osborn of FL, Taylor (Janet) Shepherd, Jr. of Columbus, OH; Annabell (Tracy) Russell of Ashland, Flora Burton of Hitchins, Dewey (Diana) Shepherd of Four Mile, Fred (Dena) Shepherd of Grayson, Fermon (Jeannie) Shepherd of Rattlesnake Ridge, Saphronia (Mike) Willis of Olive Hill; and a host of family and friends who all mourn her passing.
A celebration of life service will be 2 pm Thursday March 1, 2018 at the New Hope Church of God of Prophecy, 1784 East US Hwy 60, Grayson, KY 41143, with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Family will receive visitors from 12 noon until the service hour at the church. Flowers and expressions of love can be sent to the church.
