Douglas Clayton “Shorty” Clark, 79, of Ashland, went to be with his Lord Wednesday August 3, 2022. Shorty was born February 7, 1943 in Grayson a son of the late Clayton and Madge Isaac Clark.
Shorty was a Boilermaker/Pipefitter with the Local 248 for over 40 years. Shorty served his country honorably in the US Army. Shorty was a member of the Stinson Church of Christ. Shorty never met a stranger and had a contagious personality.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen Clark, Bob Clark, Earl Clark, Sr. and Ronald Clark; a son in-law, Larry Deerfield; and two brother in-laws, J.D. Miles and Ted Werb.
Shorty is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Stella Louise Harlow Clark of Grayson; three daughters, Jenny (Keith) Sergent, Rita Deerfield and Missy (Delmar) Kouns all of Grayson; a son, Tim (Leslie) Clark of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) Gross, Brooke (Lamarr) Fox, Kassi Sergent, Whitney (Mark) Day, Ben Clark, Ally Clark and Will Clark; twelve great-grandchildren, Jace Gross, Coen Gross, Rhet Gross, Jayla Sergent, Cianna Fox, Scarlet Fox, Caleb Fox, Meila Fox, L.J. Conner, Ashlyn Sergent, Dylan White and Riley Herndon; three sisters, Helen Werb of Cleveland, OH, Karen Miles of Catlettsburg, KY and Evelyn (Ron) Peterman of Lexington, KY; five sister in-laws, Eunice Kouns Clark, Nettie Kouns Clark, Evelyn Greenhill Clark, Betty Harlow Ross and Letha Allen; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 6 pm Saturday August 6, 2022 with Bro. Keith Sergent officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 pm Saturday until service hour.
