Earnie Elton Suttles, 85, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Monday June 17, 2019 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Elton was born June 10, 1934 in Carter County a son of the late Leondias and Rachel Johnson Suttles. In addition to his parents six sisters, Beulah Johnson, Eula Moore, Hazel Seagraves, Anna Williams, Jennie Moore and Helen Edwards; and two brothers, Delmar Suttles and Earl Suttles, preceded Elton in death.
Elton was a founding member of Mayhew Flats Community Church, where he loved singing in the choir. Elton worked at Steven’s Lumber in Ashland for over 35 years. Elton enjoyed being outdoors raising a garden and hunting deer and rabbits.
Elton is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Stella Mae Skaggs Suttles; a sister, Pearl Stevens of Grayson; a special niece, Angie Knipp Rice; a special nephew, Eddie Arnold Seagraves; a fur baby, Misty; and several friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday June 22, 2019 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Eddie Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Edison Cemetery.
