Effie Marie Moore

Effie Marie Moore, 64 of Grayson, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 08, 2023 at her residence. Effie was born June 26, 1959 in Sun Hill, WV, a daughter of the late James McCoy and Janice Walker Matney. She attended Iron Hill Church of Christ, was a homemaker, previously worked at Boyd County Nursing and Rehab, Big Value and Everman’s Cleaners. She is survived by her spouse, Jesse Banfield of 36 years; daughters, Brenda (Jason) Wade, Jessica Ballard and Angela Evans; son, Billy (Charity) Moore; brothers, David and Kevin Matney; nephew who she raised and loved like her own child, J.C. Greenhill; grandchildren, Gracie, Jenna, Jedidiah, Halle, Ryder, Madison, Jo-Jo and Mayson that she loved more than anything; a special friend so close to her heart, Christy Bond.
Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with David Matney and Billy Moore, officiating. Burial will be in the Messer – Rogers Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. unitl 1:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be, Jason Wade, J.C. Greenhill, Shawn Matney, Bobby Bond, Brandon Nunley and Ashton Kinder.
