Elwood “Woody” Norton McCoy, 94 of Grayson went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 10, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Elwood was born February 3, 1925 in Grayson a son of the late Fenton and Mertie Counts McCoy. He was retired from Ashland Oil as an inspector. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Mullins McCoy; son Lance McCoy; five sisters, Jessie McCoy, Gladys Glass, Doris Fraley, Bernice Wilson and Texie Everman; three brothers, Verne McCoy, Carl McCoy and Ercell McCoy. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Marie Mann McCoy; one son, Dustan (Becki) McCoy of Bardstown KY; one daughter, Joanna (Ken Burqwin) McCoy of Cambridge MD; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three step sons, Ray (Clara) McClanahan of Oldtown, Michael (Dorothy) McClanahan of Flatwoods and Johnny (Rochellia) McClanahan of Grayson; one step-daughter, Libby Greene of Oldtown; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to First Light caregivers for all the love and compassion shown to Elwood.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Glenn Stevenson, minister. Burial with military rites will be in Grayson Memorial Burial Park.
