Emma Porter, 83 of Grayson went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the residence of her daughter. Emma was born June 2, 1936 in Hitchins, a daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Flynn Marshall. Emma attended Lake Road Freewill Baptist Church of Grayson, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband Royce Porter in 2004; son, Mark Porter in 2011; son-in-law, Tommy Carter; three sisters, Chlotine Colegrove, Clara Marshall and Dollie Porter; five brothers, William “Bill” Marshall, Claude Marshall, Elmer “Todd” Marshall, Edgel Marshall and James “Shorty” Marshall. Her survivors include three daughters; Barb Carter of Grayson, KY, Connie (Joe) Saunders of Port St. Lucie, FL and Missy (Chris) Carter of Chapel Hill, NC; two sons, Tim Porter of Hitchins and Keith (Tammy) Porter of Grayson; one sister, Verna (Donnie) Gollihue of Denton; seven grandchildren, Thompson (Kim) Carter, Robyn (Dean) Mays, Nikki (Adam) Bender-Saunders, Sarah (MJ) Patrick, Hanna Porter, Candice Porter and Jacob Porter; four great-grandchildren, Matthew (Summer) Carter, Braxton Mays, Shay Carter, Snow Bender-Saunders; one great-greatgrandchild, Bryce Carter; daughter-in-law, Sharon Porter. Emma will be greatly missed by many of her family and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 7, 12 noon at Malone Funeral Home with Grant Sammons, officiating. Burial will be in the Porter Family Cemetery in Webbville. Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to: Community Hospice, 1420 Carter Ave., Ashland KY 41101.
