Ercel Junior Rice

Ercel Junior Rice, 76, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Saturday June 27, 2020 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Ercel was born October 31, 1943 in Carter County, KY a son of the late Cecil Edgar Rice and Hazel Irene Whitt Harrison. In addition to his parents, Ercel was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Rice; a son, Phillip Wayne Rice; brother, James Earl Rice; and his first wife, Rosie Gilbert Rice. Ercel was a truck driver for over 50 years, known as “Eight Ball” his CB handle. Ercel was a Christian having attended many local churches. Ercel loved to play bluegrass music in his spare time. Ercel is survived by his loving wife, Emma Elizabeth Qualls Rice; three daughters, Charlene Rice of Vanceburg, KY; Melinda Rice of Greenup, KY and Dorothy (Vernon) Harlow of Vanceburg, KY; a son, Jimmy Wayne Rice of Versailles, KY; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Everett Rice of Grayson, KY. Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday July 1, 2020 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Delmar Rogers officiating. Visitation will be 11 am Wednesday until the service hour.
