Franklin Delano Waugh, 89 of Denton, KY, passed away on July 2, 2022 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY, following a short illness. Frank was born August 16, 1932 at Denton, KY a son of the late Toney and Mary Rogers Waugh. Frank served in the U.S. Army (Korean War) 1952- 1956 stationed in England, with four years of active with two in reserve. Frank retired from General Refractories in Hitchins after 30 years. Frank was preceded in death by three brothers, John Waugh, William (Bill) Waugh and Garland Waugh, two sisters, Pauline Evans and Evelyn Davis. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norah Chapman Waugh, one son, Thomas (Stacy) Waugh of Denton, two daughters, Barbara Young of Olive Hill and Charlotte Jean (Randy Felty) Waugh of Grayson, one grandson, Shannon (Malayia) Whisman of West Liberty, KY, two granddaughters, Falon (Melvin) Wolfe of Olive Hill and Tessa Waugh of TX, one great-grandson, Benjamin Tucker Whisman of West Liberty, KY, one great-granddaughter, Theodora June Wolfe of Olive Hill, two step-grandchildren, Brody and Josie Stamper, brothers, Howard (Linda) Waugh of Olive Hill, Leonard (Ruth) Waugh of Galena, OH and Donald (Pat) Waugh of Louisville, KY, sisters, Charlotte (Henry) Kees of Davys Run and Martha Morrow of Wurtland, KY. Frank was an avid UK basketball fan. He loved to fox hunt and raising his garden yearly until he was not able.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Delmar Rogers, minister. Burial will be in the Cooksey Cemetery in Denton. Visitation will be Thursday from 12 noon till service time at Malone Funeral Home.  Serving as pallbearers will be, Paul Rogers, Keith Rogers, James Evans, Patrick Tolliver, Dusty Johnson and Brandon Johnson, honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Stewart.
