Gary Woodford Shaffer

Gary W. “Hound” Shaffer, 70, of Grayson, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 22, 2018.
He was born June 21, 1947, the son of the late William “Vent” Shaffer and Katherine McGuire Shaffer of Grayson.
Gary owned and operated an independent trucking company, “Shaffer Trucking,” for more than 50 years. He was a driver, mechanic, and craftsman. Gary was an automobile and NASCAR enthusiast, and a proud Republican. He was a loving husband and the world’s greatest uncle.
Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glenna Isaacs Shaffer; three God-Children, Candace Bradley Hicks(Kenny), Barry Brandon Bradley, and Garrick K. Bradley; two God-Grandchildren, Braden Hicks and Landon Hicks; and many great friends and family members.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday 11:00 a.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Wells and Bro. Denver Prater, ministers. Entombment will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at funeral home and after 9:00 a.m. Monday till service.
