Gary Lee “Pooh Bear” Vanderpool, 57 of Rush went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Gary was born August 23, 1961 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Alex II and Doris Elswick Vanderpool. Gary was a member of Painter’s Union 1072 in Kenova, WV for 32 years and was of Christian faith. His survivors include his significant other for 20 years, Jennifer Ray Parker of Rush; four sisters, Sharon (Mike) Burke of Rush, Debra (Mike) Pennington of Rush, Janet (Bob) Mitchell of Morningview, KY and Christina (Scott) Artis of Grayson; three brothers, John (Lisa) Vanderpool of Ashland, Keith (Missy) Vanderpool of Greenup and Norman Wayne (Carolyn) Vanderpool of Rush; step-son, David Foust; step-daughter, Nikkie Foust; grandsons Dylan Foust and Devin Foust; great-granddaughter, Helena Foust; special sister-in-law, Joni; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday 11:30 a.m. at Pennington Cemetery by Bo Mayo, officiating. Burial will be on Jack’s Fork in the Pennington Cemetery in Rush.
