George Edward Willis

George Edward Willis, 82, of Grayson, Ky. went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his residence. George was born November 13, 1936 in Grayson, a son of the late Clyde and Oma Brown Willis. He was a farmer and a horse and cattle trader. George was a member of the Cannonsburg Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 2006 by his wife of 49 years, Janice Floyd Willis; granddaughter, Carrie Sergent; great-grandson, Derrick Donovan Willis; brothers, Garrell Willis, Donald Willis and David Willis; and a sister, Bonnie Curry. His survivors include three sons, Don E. Willis, Floyd G. Willis and George W. (Wendy) Willis all of Grayson; three daughters, Patty Sue (Danny) Sergent, Sherry (Randy) Campbell and Lisa (Fred) Simmons all of Grayson; one sister, Joan Stone of Grayson; two brothers, Elwood (Carolyn) Willis and Bobby Lynn (Ann) Willis both of Grayson; one uncle, Ken Brown of Oldtown, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home with Elder Frank Baldridge, Eddie Lester, John Funk and Joe Miller, officiating. Interment will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held Saturday, January 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 13 from 12 noon until the service at Malone Funeral Home. Serving as pall bearers will be his grandsons, Derrick Willis, Charlie Simmons, Shawn Sergent, Kyle Sergent, Chase Willis, He “Sean” Xinming, Heath Thomas and Josh Perkins.
