Gregory Sallie, 61, a Summit Boy from Ashland loved his Lord and Savior, his family and his friends; passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Greg was born January 19, 1958 in Ashland KY, a son of the late Bill Roy and Gloria Spears Sallie. Greg’s most valuable possession was his family and the time they shared together. Greg graduated from Morehead University with a BA, Masters and Rank I. Greg taught in Boyd County for 12 years,and later worked as an administrator at Fairview for 18 years. Greg loved running and walking in his later years as well as golfing, riding his motorcycle and snow skiing. Greg was an avid UK fan, and a Hopeless Cincinnati Reds and Miami Dolphins fan. Greg attended Cannonsburg Trinity United Methodist Church. Greg is survived by his soul mate and life partner of 37 years, Vicki Lee Stidham Sallie; two sons, Chad (Monica) Sallie of Chesterfield, VA and Tyler (Laken) Sallie of Flatwoods; three grandchildren, Claire “Button” Sallie, Nathan “Little Man” Sallie and Aubrey “Little Bit” Sallie; a sister, Renee (Kevin) Badgett of Rush; two brothers, Garry (Judy) Sallie, and Darryl (Krystin) Sallie both of Ashland; and several special nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be 12 noon Thursday June 6th, 2019 at the Cannonsburg Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Tyler Brumfield, Pastor Sheldon Wheeler ministers. Friends may call from 11 am Thursday until the service hour at the church.
