J. James "Jimmy" Woods

J. James “Jimmy” Woods, 92 of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Jimmy was born September 10, 1926 in Webbville, a son of the late Ray E. and Lula Houck Woods. He was of Christian Faith, started his career in groceries, having several stores in the area, former co-owner of Rupert’s Department Store, member of the F.&A.M Willard Lodge #626, El Hasa Temple and past member of the Carter County Ambulance Board. He was preceded in death by his wife June Ball Woods in 1994; three brothers, Earl Woods, Ralph Woods and Roy Woods; two sisters, Maggie Thompson and Vivian McCoy; son-in-law, Bill Womack. His survivors include one son, Tim Woods of Grayson; daughter, Jackie Womack of Grayson; sister, Helen Kitchen of Ashland; two grandchildren, Sarah Marcum and Will (Patricia) Womack; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Gary Sparks and David Boggs, ministers. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Masonic Services at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to: Shriners Hospitals, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington KY 40502.
