James Arthur "Sonny" Fryer

James Arthur “Sonny” Fryer, 70 of Grayson went to be with his Lord Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. Sonny was born April 23, 1948 in Carter County, KY a son of the late Bud and Gladys Lucas Fryer. Including his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 20 years in 2015, Joyce Darlene Stevens Fryer; and a grandson, Tyler Matthew Fryer.
Sonny was an Army veteran who served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Sonny retired from C & O Railroad after 27 years of service as a Conductor. Sonny was a life-long cattle farmer and was of the Christian faith.
Sonny is survived by a son, James (Angela) Fryer of Greenup; two grandchildren, Kyle Rinne of Louisville and Justin Brent Fryer of Greenup; and a host of family and friends who all mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Wednesday October 17, 2018 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Clell Lucas and Mickey King officiating. Burial will follow in the Lucas Family Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Tuesday and after 9 am Wednesday all at the funeral home.
