James Clinton Skaggs, 70, of Olive Hill went to be with his Lord Wednesday June 13, 2018 at the South Shore Nursing and Rehab Center. James was born July 8, 1947 in Sandy Hook, KY a son of the late William Thurston and Vena Moore Skaggs. In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years in 2014, Jean Ann Stamper Skaggs; a daughter, Dorie Ann Bledsoe; a great-grandson, Franklin Cole Sparks; two sisters, Letha Miller and Lena Barker; a brother, Ralph Skaggs; and two brother in-laws, Edgar Thornsberry and Raymond Knipp.
James was a construction worker for the Labors Local 1445 of Ashland. James enjoyed gardening and fishing.
James is survived by a son, James Christopher Skaggs of Rush; two daughters, Sylvia Skaggs of Ashland and Billie Vaughn of Olive Hill; son in-law, Bryan Bledsoe of Grayson; five sisters, Lecta Knipp of Grayson, Stella (Elton) Suttles of Grayson, Vicie (Clell) Simmons and Geneva Thornsberry both of Sandy Hook and Bertha Sue (Bob) Elliott of Springfield, OH; a sister in-law, Eliza Skaggs of Sandy Hook; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday June 16th, 2018 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Eddie Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
