James Herbert Hay

James Herbert “Herb” Hay, 66, of Grayson, KY went to be with the Lord July 4, 2018 at the Community Hospice Care Center at Ashland, KY. Herb was born August 4, 1951 at Grayson the son of the late Alfred “June” Hay Jr. and Betty Barber Hay. Herb was a retiree from Boilermakers Local 40. He was a very generous man, helping so many people during his lifetime. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a very special brother-in-law, Patrick McDavid. He joined Pat in heaven on Pat’s birthday. He was also preceded in death by an amazing niece, Bridgett Jarvis and good friend, Harlan Seagraves. His is survived by three sisters, Vicki McDavid, Lynn (Johnny) Gollihue and Judy (Danny) Waggoner all of Grayson and Charrisa Barker whom he thought of as a daughter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Family would like to give a special thank you to Clarence Steele for taking Herb for his treatments for being at the hospital and Hospice Center. Thanks for the love you have shown to Herb and his family, also to Roger Criswell for taking care of Herb’s yard work. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Grant Sammons, officiating. Interment will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held Saturday evening, July 7 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday after 12 noon at the Malone Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Steele, Richard Glancy, Mark Hay and Eric McDavid. Pallbearers will be Sean McDavid, Allen Snodgrass, Gunnar Jarvis, Maverick Jarvis, Conner Robinson and Jamie Swanagan. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com.
