John E Rice

John E. Rice, 72 of Grayson, went to be with his Lord Monday, January 4, 2021 at Hospice Care Center in Ashland. John was born September 8, 1948 in Grayson a son of Helen Gollihue Rice of Grayson and the late Frank P. Rice, Sr. He was a retired supervisor for Kentucky Department of Highways, farmer, member of Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church and active member of Carter County Veterans Association. John was preceded by his maternal grandparents, Earis and Florence Gollihue and paternal grandfather, Walter C. Rice. In addition to his mother, John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Prichard Rice; one sister, Pam (Rick) Hall of Winchester, KY; two brothers, Joed (Sandy) Rice of Rush, KY, Frank (Robin) Rice, Jr. of Grayson; nieces and nephews, Kasey (John) Fischesser, Jessica Hope Rice, Frank (Jessica) Rice III, Travis (Missy) Rice, Candice Blackwell and Eric (Mandy) Hall.
Services will be conducted Friday, 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Joed Rice, minister. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
