Joseph Franklin Sagraves

Joseph Franklin “Joe"Sagraves, 90, of Morehead formerly of Grayson, passed away Saturday May 18th, 2019 at the Life Care Center in Morehead. Joe was born May 6, 1929 in Hitchins, KY a son of the late Steve and Julia Mae Grizzell Sagraves. Including his parents Joe was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Elmo Sagraves; three sisters, Juanita Lindsey, Ruby Marcum and Margaret Todd; and a brother, Harlan Seagraves.
Joe was a Kentucky Colonel, Notary Public, Life member of the NRA, Life member NRA Legion of Honor, Safety Instructor for Marlin Firearms Co., and former Vice President of S.A.F.E. Gun Club of Columbus, Ohio. Joe was a retired Television picture tube inspector from Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Columbus, Ohio. Joe was also a former Carter County Deputy Sherriff.
Joe is survived by a grandson, Miles Sagraves of Pikeville, KY; a sister, Avonell (Jack) Harper; two brothers, Paul (Teresa) Sagraves and Donald (Betty) Seagraves all of Grayson; a special niece, Stephanie Seagraves Everman; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday May 24, 2019 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Lewis Baier officiating. Burial will follow in the Sagraves Family Cemetery.
