Karen Lynn Stephens

Karen Lynn Lore Stephens, 70, of Carter City went to be with her Lord Monday, September 20, 2022 at the UK Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Karen was born February 12, 1952 in Ironton, OH a daughter of the late George Washington Lore and Erie Pauline Messer Lore-Wilburn. In addition, her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dennie Wilburn; two brothers, Harold Lore and Lowell Lore; and a sister, Darlene Montgomery. Karen was a CNA having worked at Wurtland Nursing and Rehab for over 20 years. Karen was a caregiver to many family members and friends. Karen’s greatest love was her family and she was a proud grandmother. Karen is survived by four daughters, Stephanie (Kenny) Poplin of Ashland, Kim (Paul) May of Burlington, KY, Glenda Stephens of Carter City, and Kelly Lezu of Florence, KY; a son, Jeremy (Sarah) Stephens of Greenup; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine (Tim) Laster of Carter City and Doris Bradley of Indiana; two brothers, Carl Lore of Las Vegas, NV and Elbert (Patty) Lore of Carter City; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who all mourn her passing. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Lowell Messer officiating. Burial will follow in the Horsley Cemetery.
