Katherine Irene Allen

Katherine Irene Young Allen, 74, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Katherine was born June 9, 1947 in Denton, KY a daughter of the late, Thurman and Shirley Aline Glancy Young. In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years in 2001, Thomas Ralph Allen, Sr.; a daughter, Francis Arlene Allen; three brothers, Jack Young, Eddie Young and Jim Young; a sister, Imogene Griffith; and a daughter in-law, Rhonda Dickerson-Allen. Katherine was a homemaker and a member of Straight Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Katherine enjoyed quilting, baking, working puzzles and seek & finds; and especially spending time with family. Katherine is survived by two sons, Ralph (Nikki) Allen, Jr. and Christopher Allen both of Grayson; two daughters, Katherine Aline (Richard) Bond of Hitchins and Jennifer (Doug) Ratliff of Greenup; eleven grandchildren, David Bond, Katie Hylton, Aaron Allen, Brandy Osborne, Joe Allen, Jade Ramey, Jacklyn Hall, Austin Allen, Zoie Barker, Cassie Barker and Tanden Dickerson; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Waugh; two brothers, Bobby Young and Thurman (Linda) Young, Jr. all of Grayson; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday April 30, 2022 at the Straight Creek Freewill Baptist with Bro. Lloyd Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Glancy Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Friday at the Funeral Home and after 10 am Saturday until the service hour at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
