Kenneth Cantley, 77, of Shelbyville, KY- formerly of Hitchins, KY- went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021. Born on June 14, 1943 in Dry Branch, WV, Kenny spent his life being a soldier for the Lord and a sailor for the United States Navy- the latter of which, he retired after 21 years of faithful service. Being a proud veteran and a family man, the only thing he loved more than his family and his country was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents Thelma and Elmer Cantley, his in-laws Ruby and Herbert Rogers, a daughter Mindy Jo Cantley, and a host of siblings and loved ones to pave the road home for him.
He is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and childhood sweetheart Jenny, who was his whole world, two daughters- Teresa (Darren) Brown and Barbara (Monty) Delong, six grandchildren- Brianna (Jake) McKee, Danielle (Anthony) Waterman, Connor (Sarah) Veit, Joseph Delong, Derek (Jennifer) Brown, and Danielle (Grant) Robinson, and eight great grandbabies- Autumn, Delanie, Khloee, Rylee, Matilyn, Chevy, Willow, and Skilyn; as well as a host of loved ones to follow in his footsteps.
Kenny was loved by so many people in his church, and in his community. He gave more love than we could ever ask a man, and he spent his years both in and out of the Service making sure he served his community and protected his loved ones. His greatest wish was that all of his loved ones would look at their souls, and make sure they could follow him to his new home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, KY with Bro Delmar Rogers and Shaun Whitt officiating at 1 o’ clock. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with full military honors to celebrate Kenny’s service to his country. Visitation will be 11 a.m Tuesday until the service hour at the funeral home with a dinner at Coalton First Baptist Church to follow the burial around 3.
