Larry Joe Whitt

Larry Joe Whitt, 70, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Wednesday September 5, 2018 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Larry was born April 21, 1948 in Ashland, KY a son of the late Marvin Earl and Wilma Jean Smith Whitt. In addition to his parents Larry was preceded in death his beloved wife of 40 years, Ruth Elaine Thornbury Whitt; a brother, Duane Edward Whitt; and his dog “Cutter”.
Larry was an over the road truck driver for over 20 years, and attended Willard Missionary Baptist Church. Larry served his country honorably in the US Army, was an avid NASCAR fan and loved spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by three sons, Kris (Tammy) Whitt of Germantown, OH , Les (Johnda Carper) Whitt of Grayson and Dwayne (Ann) Perry of Olive Hill; three daughters, Donna (Randall) Waters of Oklahoma, Rita Tackett and Tonya (Aric) Lewis both of Grayson; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two dogs, Ty and Mo; and a host of friends and relatives who all mourn his passing.
A memorial service will be 2 pm Saturday September 8, 2018 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Morris Shearer and RC Thornbury officiating.
