Mary Maxine Marshall Potter, 91, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Saturday July 6, 2019 at the Carter Nursing and Rehab. Mary was born July 25, 1927 in Carter County, KY a daughter of the Late Orville and Lillie Hardy Marshall. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Alfred “Butch” Julian Potter, an infant son, Charles Norman Potter; a son, Joe Potter; a daughter, Sharon Gayle Shepherd; a sister, Lyda Cook; and a brother, Charles Marshall.
Mary was a homemaker who always considered everyone like family who visited her home. Mary attended Maranatha Bible Church, enjoyed cooking and was known for her generosity.
Mary is survived by a son, Larry Potter of Willard; two daughters, Sandra “Mitzie” Kay (Kenneth) Howard of Grayson and Kathy Ferguson of Ashland; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Izetta Jackson of Willard; two brothers, Frank Marshall of Delray Beach, FL and Leonard Marshall of Ocala, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Wednesday July 10th, 2019 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Steve Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
