Mary Rose Sword Ratcliff, 90, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Mary was born July 3, 1927 in Lenore, WV a daughter of the late Bill and Lillie Mae McGuire Sword. Including her parents Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Lewis “Todd” Ratcliff; two sons, Charles Leonard Ratcliff and Kenneth Russell Ratcliff; and two sisters, Virgie Bodnar and Wanda Phillips.
Mary was of the Christian Faith, worked as a cook at Willard school, sold antiques and operated a pool hall and restaurant. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family and loved spending time with her precious grandchildren.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Darrell) Hall of Grayson; a brother, Eddie (Diane) Canterbury of Yuma, WV; two sisters, Margie (Fred) White of Logan, WV and Carol Canterbury of Yuma, WV; ten grandchildren, Susie (Adam Sparks) Ratcliff, Penny (Keith) Rogers, Dawn (Clarence) Compton, Billy Ratcliff, Shelly Ratcliff, Echelle Fields, Todd (Kayla) Fields, Curtis Fields, Jacob Ratcliff and Chris Ratcliff; several great and great-great – grandchildren; a daughter in-law, Barbara Ratcliff; and several special friends, Bobby James, Carol James, Amber James, Jean James, David (Pauline) Hall, Tommy (Vickie) Blevins, Tommy (Judy) Flaugher, and Rosemary Hall; and several nieces and nephews who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday September 25, 2017 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Tim Ratcliff and David Hall officiating.
