Maxine Shears Carroll

Maxine Shears Carroll, 95, of Grayson, KY passed at her residence Monday, March 13, 2023 surrounded by her family. Maxine was born September 20, 1927 in Grayson, KY daughter of Bill and Goldie Bishop Shears. Maxine was preceded death by her husband of 53 years, Walter Carroll, Jr., a daughter: Betty June Gilliam, a son: Jack Barton Carroll, 3 grandsons: Robert Franklin II, Michael Shawn Sexton, Ronald "Ricky" Richard, Jr., 3 son-in-laws: Billy Richard Whitt, Robert Sexton, Ronald Gilliam, 3 brothers: Richard Shears, Charles Shears, Paul Shears, 2 sisters: Margaret Murphy, Ruth Bush. Maxine is survived by 2 daughters: Janet Sue Carroll Whitt of Sandy Hook KY, Carolyn Kay Carroll Sexton of Ashland KY, 1 son: Ronald "Rick" Richard (Barb) Carroll of Grayson KY, 4 granddaughters: Raina (David) Gillum of Sandy Hook KY, Robin (Kevin) Griffith of Sandy Hook KY, Angie (Jody) McCall of Dixon MO, Amanda (Tony) Kimble of Steel Water OK, 2 grandsons: Kris (Sarah) Whitt of Sandy Hook KY, Kevin Carroll of Grayson Ky. Jason Marshall of Cannonsburg KY, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.
Maxine was a special little lady of Baptist faith who could brighten any day with her all around glamour and bling. She loved her jewelry, lipstick, nail polish, fancy clothes and her weekly beauty shop visits. She also loved spending time with her family, traveling to the Smoky Mountains, flea marketing, collecting antiques and shopping. She will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Mullins, minister. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Kevin Carroll, Kris Whitt, David Gillum, Kevin Griffith, Gary Bush and Jack Shears.Memorial contributions is suggested to, Hitchins Gospel Mission, 279 B & L Lane, Grayson, KY 41143.
