Nancy Pennington Porter

Nancy Pennington Porter, age 75 of Grayson, went to be with her Lord and Savior
and her husband Louis E. Porter of 54 years, on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the
Community Hospice Center in Ashland, KY.
Nancy was born December 02, 1943 in Beetle, KY, to the late Sanford and Hazel
Pennington.

Nancy’s survivors include her 2 sons Jeffrey (Valerie) Porter, Stacy (Tara) Porter
both of Grayson, KY, and a daughter, Michelle (Dave) Gilbert of Oldtown, KY; one
sister, Judy (Jim) Heaberlin, and sister-in-law, Jane Pennington, both of Grayson;
a brother in-law, Willis Porter and a sister-in-law Delores Evans, both of
Webbville, KY; 2 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 8 step great-
grandchildren and a host of family and friends who will mourn her absence.

Nancy was a Christian for 54 years and was currently attending Fellowship Christian Baptist
Church.  She was a homemaker and was involved in the Carter County Extension
Homemaker’s organization, where she was the president of her local group, Rolling
Hills during the 1980's.   She helped in her children’s homerooms when they were
at Prichard Elementary School, helping raise money for air conditioners for their
classrooms. She also helped with Carter County Meals on Wheels, and worked for
the Carter County Board of Education as a substitute teacher’s aide.    

Nancy was always willing to lend a helping hand, visiting with the sick and shut in,
helping her elderly family and friends and along with her husband, babysat their 2
grandchildren Noah and Scarlett Porter for many years.  She loved spending time
with her family and friends and it thrilled her heart when they would all gather at
her home.

Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday May 22, 2019 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Tim Porter and Bro. Bryan Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Tuesday and after 9 am Wednesday until the service hour.
