Nellie Bays Martin Campbell

Nellie Mae Bays Martin Campbell, 96 of Richmond, KY formerly of Willard went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Nellie was born July 26, 1922 in Willard KY, a daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Green Bays. She served her country as a Marine during WWII; she was of Christian faith attending Ashland Church and a member of Women’s Memorial in Washington D.C. She was preceded in death by her first husband Borda Astor Martin and her second husband John Campbell, Jr; seven sisters, Opal Adams, Orbie Shepherd, Wanda McCarley, Dorothy Riggle, Ethel Fleming, Flora Duncan and Edith Bowling; seven brothers, Bill Bays, Tom Bays, Leonard Bays, Alfred Bays, Jim Bays, John W. Bays and Paul Bays. Her survivors include one son, Harry (Dinah) Martin of Richmond KY; one daughter, Lizabeth (Michael) Hamblin of Georgetown, IN; four grandchildren, Taylor Hamblin, John Martin, James Martin and Joe Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, 2:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with grandson John Martin, officiating. Burial with full Marine Military honors will be in Johns Run Cemetery.
