Randall Bascom Boggs, 67 of Grayson went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at UK Bluegrass Hospice Center surrounded by his family. He was born June 2, 1952, a son of the late James A. and Hattie Sizemore Boggs. Randy was preceded in death by three brothers; Arlie Boggs, Roger Boggs and Jack Boggs; three sisters, Janice Boggs, Phyllis Boggs-Steele and Mildred Boggs-Williams. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jacqueline Slone Boggs; four daughters, Melanie (Bryan) Scott of Grayson, Miranda (Mark) Stamm of Lexington, KY, Sydney (Kerrick) Lawson of Louisville, KY and Courtney (Barrett) Bush of Grayson; two sons, Ryan (Miranda) Tussey and Kegan (Hannah) Tussey both of Grayson; one sister, Brenda Boggs Marshall of Gainesville, FL; eleven grandchildren whom were the love of his life and he supported in all their activities; Bryce Bush, Chaseton Tussey, Brady Bush, Jacob Stamm, Trey Scott, Treven Tussey, Natalie Stamm, Ty Scott, Tate Scott, Hudson Tussey and Haddox Tussey.
Randy was a retired Boilermaker from local 40 in Elizabethtown, KY. He was an avid dirt track racer. He drove late models and modifieds and won numerous trophies throughout the years including the World 100 in 1987. He was inducted in the Dirt Track Hall of Fame in 2013, and in 1988 was voted most popular driver in the Professional Racers Organization series. Randy raced as far west as Texas and North to Pennsylvania and Michigan, many times during speed week in Florida.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. David Boggs and Josh Schmidt, ministers. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
