Rebecca Ann Shaffer Watts, 64 of Ashland went to be with her Lord Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the King’s Daughters Medical Center. Rebecca was born December 8, 1957 in Ashland, KY a daughter of the late, James Edward and Parthea Katheryn Riffe Shaffer. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Edward Watts; and a sister, Roberta Jo “Robbie” Shaffer Chaffin; a nephew, Adam Hall; and a brother in-law, Danny Hall.
Rebecca was of the Baptist Faith and was baptized on December 3, 1967. Rebecca was a graduate of East Carter County High School class of 1975. After high school, Rebecca worked as an activities director at Woodland Oaks and Kingsbrook Lifecare Center; and had previously worked in the Bakery at Foodland in Ashland.
Rebecca is survived by two sons, Jason Dale Watts and Justin Ross Watts both of Ashland; five grandchildren, Rylee Ann Watts (Rebecca's namesake), and four younger grandchildren; four sisters, Bettye (Ron) Salmon, Donna (Mike) Hutchinson, Vivian (Kenneth) Evans, and Jeanie (Dan) Frederick; a brother, James “Bub” Shaffer; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday August 1, 2022 at the Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Frederick officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
