Richard Donald King, 78, of Hitchins went to be with his Lord, Friday February 1, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Richard was born October 6, 1940 in Wadestown, WV, a son of the late Kenneth Stewart, Sr. and Mary King. Including his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years in 2015, Sharon Kay Swatsenbarg King; a brother, Kenneth Ralph King, Sr. and a sister Bobbette Gump.
Richard was a member of the Blacksville United Methodist Church, and a retired main lineman with the United Mine Workers 31-A. Richard was a US ARMY Veteran who served his country honorably; and enjoyed collecting knives.
Richard is survived by a son, Douglas Edward King, Sr. of Hitchins; two daughters, April Michelle Bolyard of Hitchins and Melody Lynn Siracusa of Morgantown, W.V.; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and one on the way; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11 am, Wednesday February 6, 2019 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with Delmar Rogers officiating.
