Rita Joan Burnett

Rita Joan Bush Burnett, 73, of Lloyd, KY went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Rita was born November 11, 1948 in Grayson, KY a daughter of the late, Herbert Wayne and Mildred Ruth Montgomery Bush. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by a daughter, Alison Jean Burnett; a brother, David Bush; a son in-law, Rodney Salyers; and a sister in-law, Lesli Bush. Rita was a retired Greenup Deputy Clerk having worked for over 30 years. Rita was a secretary/treasurer of the Democrat Women’s Club and the Democrat Executive Committee, Northeast KY Area Development Board; a Greenup Fiscal Court recorder, on the Kentucky Covered Bridge Authority; member of the Oldtown Fire Department Ladies Auxillary; a Kentucky Colonel, a Notary Public; a member of Red Hat society and a Licensed Realtor. Rita is survived by three daughters, Melissa Salyers of Greenup, Amy Jo (Robert) Williams of Lloyd and Carey Burnett (Chris) Boggess of Georgetown; 14 grandchildren, Kyle Kilburn, Kelley Kilburn- Baldridge, Jessica Burnett, Jennifer Barnett, Dakota Potter, Joseph Salyers, Adam Salyers, Rodney Salyers, Catherine Stevens, Ryker Stevens, Nicholas Stevens, Brody Stevens, Julian Boggess and Myles Boggess; numerous great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sue (Dwayne) King, Nancy (Dennis) Elrod, Jeannie (Jim) Riedel, Theresa (Dan) Carey, and Lisa Lara; a brother, Randy Bush; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn her passing. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday August 19, 2022 at the Malone Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
