Robert Lee Layne

Robert Lee “Bobby” Layne, 77, of Rush passed away Wednesday May 17, 2023 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Bobby was born October 9, 1945 in Wayne, WV a son of the late, Frank Sr. and Mattie Byrd Layne. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie Layne, Denver Layne and Sammy Layne; and five sisters, Roseanne Woods, Hazel Burke, Goldie Justice, Dorie Payne and Jenny Thomlin. Bobby was a pump installer/technician for Tri-State Pump & Supply for over 54 years. Bobby enjoyed listening to country music and spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby is survived by a daughter, Leisa Rae Littleton; a son, Robert Edward Layne; two grandsons, Cody Littleton and Matthew Littleton all of Rush; three brothers, Frank (Cindy) Layne, Jr., Bill (Linda) Layne and Jimmy Layne; a sister, Roberta Sexton; and a host of nieces and nephews who all mourn his passing. A memorial service will take place at the family cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson.
