Ronald Dean Hicks, 67, of Webbville went to be with his Lord Wednesday July 7, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ronnie was born May 2, 1954 in Louisa, KY, a son of the late Raymond James and Goldie Ellen Kidd Hicks. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by two sisters, Menthel Leah Hicks Boggs and Bonnie Sue Hicks Page; and two brothers, William Raymond Hicks and Charles James Hicks.
Ronnie attended Low Gap Enterprise Baptist Church and was saved and baptized. Ronnie was retired Laborer with the local 1445 after 33 years. Ronnie was a Patriot Guard Rider having rode over 300 missions, escorting veterans to their final resting place. Ronnie enjoyed running his sawmill, and taking his dog “Lucy” on trips in his truck. Ronnie was known for his kind and caring personality and his generous heart.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Carol Sue Moore Hicks of Webbville; two sons, Jeff (Grace) Hicks of Webbville and Kenny (Candace) Hicks of Grayson; a daughter, Patricia Denean Garvin of Carter City; 6 grandchildren, Robert Devin Garvin, Kyle Hicks, Courtlyn Shantelle Garvin, Paiton McKayla Garvin, Braden Hicks and Landon Hicks; 4 great-grandchildren, Brayden Cole Garvin, Leland Rylee Garvin, Cheston Reid Adams and Huxley Finn Garvin; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday July 11, 2021 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Ralph Cordle and Jeff Baldrige officiating. Burial will follow in the Hensley Cemetery escorted by the Patriot Riders. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Saturday and after 12 noon Sunday all at the funeral home.
