Rufus Glen Haney

Rufus Glen Haney, 87, of Carter City, KY, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Rufus was born November 11, 1936, in Carter, KY, the sixth child of Ralph and Mildred Cartee Haney. Rufus was a retired coal and clay miner, and a member of Carter Christian Church where he accepted the Lord and was baptized in 1981. Rufus was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Haney and Lois Wince; brothers, Lowell Haney, Ray Haney, Theron Haney and James Franklin Haney. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vera Roe Haney; daughter, Glenda Haney Woods of Carter City, KY; sisters, Alice Roberts of Cleveland, TN, Linda (Dudley) Gullion of Dry Ridge, KY and Loretta Davis of Greenup, KY; brother in law, Emeral (Edna) Roe of Lewis County, KY; sister in law Louise Roe of Shallotte, NC.
Services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Malone Funeral Home by his nephew, Donald A. Davis, minister. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Carter City. Visitation will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home. The family request donations to: ICEJUSA.ORG.
