Ruth Phillips Johnson

Ruth Phillips Johnson, 87 of Lexington went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2017 after an extended illness. Ruth was born March 13, 1930 in Lebanon, OH a daughter of the late Willie Harrison and Alva Whitley Phillips. She was of the Baptist faith, a licensed beautician and RCA in Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Edward Johnson; son, Donald Gene Johnson; one brother, Aubra Phillips; two sisters, Ruby Harlow and Goldie Harlow. She is survived by one son, Edward Johnson of Honolulu HI; one daughter, Glenna Jo Johnson of Lexington; one sister Wila Akers of FL; two grandchildren, Kevin Johnson of Santa Anna CA and Jennifer Bjerregaard of Bargersville IN; four great-grandchildren, Carly and Nolan Bjerregaard, Bradley and Collin Johnson.
Services will be conducted Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Brad Cotten, officiating. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com.
