Veneda Doris Cains

Veneda Doris Thompson Cains, 81, of Rush, KY went to be with her Lord Wednesday June 26, 2019 at her residence. Doris was born November 23, 1937 in Carter County, KY a daughter of the late Fred and Violet Hicks Thompson. In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2011, George C. Cains and nine brothers and sisters.
Doris was of the Christian Faith. Doris was a homemaker and a waitress for many years at Dippy Whip and The Country Squire Inn. Doris enjoyed working in her flower garden, working puzzles and word searchs; and loved having her family over for dinners.
Doris is survived by: two sons, Michael (Rita) Cains of Grayson, and Rocky (Nadine ) Cains of Denton; three daughters, Angela (Keith) Wilburn of Lexington, Regina (Danny) Midkiff and Georgetta Gilbert both of Grayson; 12 grandchildren, Brent, Chad, Derrick, Josh, Shelly, Kara, Ryan, Crystal, Whitney, Drew, Nathan, and Kassi;18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 am Monday July 1, 2019 at Malone Funeral Home with Bill Sammons officiating. Burial will follow in East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Sunday and after 9 am Monday until the service hour.
