Virginia Harsham Stevens, 101, of Grayson, KY passed away peacefully Monday, August 19 at Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland, KY. She was born December 17, 1917 in Carter City, KY, a daughter to the late Nicholas and Carrie Jordan Harsham.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clifton W. (C.W.) Stevens in 2004, brothers Abe, Ellis, Albert, Ted, and Philip Harsham, and a sister, Catherine McKay. Surviving are her daughter Susan (C.J.) Johnson of Grayson, KY, and grandsons Andrew Steven Johnson of San Antonio, TX, and Alex Walker (Sarah) Johnson of Lynchburg, VA.
Virginia was a graduate of Carter City High School and Portsmouth Business College, and was a member of Bayless Memorial Presbyterian Church in Grayson, KY. She enjoyed knitting and made many beautiful items for others. Virginia (“Baboo”) loved her grandsons more than anything and was very proud of them.
Funeral services will be held at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, KY on Saturday, August 31 at 12 noon with Aaron Rayburn officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
